BB News July - August 2012

BB News is the bulletin board of the BrmmBrmm Classic Network. If your club would like to use this space to raise awareness of a club event or item of interest, please email admin@brmmbrmm.com.

Apologies for the slight delay in getting this edition of the BB News to you, I have been having one or 2 technical issues here at BB Base Camp! As I write this I am daring to wonder if finally, at last we are to get a wee taste of summer as the sun has made an appearance again making everything grow even faster in the garden, especially the weeds! I hope you have all managed to avoid the rain and escape onto the open road for some road trips and quality time with your Classics. Don’t forget to write in at tell me about any adventures you have and pics too of course!

Gosforth Village Jubilee Parade
Here is a picture that was taken in our local Jubilee Parade, where, for a small village there was a great selection of locally owned Classics including a 1957 Bond, and a Ford Model Y. Built in 1973 this is an 1800cc MGB Roadster, bought by its current owner in 1980 when it was just 7 years old and in “Original Condition“ (i.e. a bit rough around the edges!!) It was restored by Rob in the mid 80’s and used as his only car until 2001 when it was again restored by a local garage. It is now is used in “Summertime Only” and is regularly on display in shows and events throughout Cumbria.

BrmmBrmm “I-Spy”
This is a TR3A, as I am sure you can tell, one of the cars we are looking for in our new game of "I-spy". I am sorry if you have already spotted all three of the cars we are looking for, but you haven’t let us have your stories or pictures of where and who spotted them! So, as a reminder and a hint I thought I would add a picture of one of them.

All you need to do is to spot the 3 cars mentioned in BB News and take a picture (preferably with you alongside it) and send it to me at admin@brmmbrmm.com or, submit it to your club gallery for consideration for the Photo of the Week.
For each picture sent in, 1 point will be awarded, although I do need to restrict it to 1 photo per car per club I’m afraid. I will keep a tally of the points awarded to each club and will select a photo to include on each edition of BB News. At the end of the year we will send a highly sought after BrmmBrmm trophy along with a certificate to the winning club in time for Christmas, and will also include a special feature of the club in the New Year News.

Here is a reminder of the cars to spot over the next 2 months:
  • Triumph TR3/TR3A
  • Ford Model T
  • Austin Allegro
