17th NORTH YORKSHIRE TRIUMPH WEEKEND.
Most of the regulars, and some new visitors, were out for this long standing date on the edge of the moors. Friday night was relaxation in the various Runswick Bay hostelries after setting up camp. The early hours brought an unwelcome rainstorm and the run across the moors on Saturday morning was a case of 'follow the leaders tail lights' in the mist. Does the sun ever shine up there? Lunch was at the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge near Castleton and the afternoon was free to explore the area. Many of us went to Whitby to excape the mist and some even went shopping to get warmer clothes! Saturday night was barbeque time followed by long sessions in the pubs (again) or hiding in tents to keep warm. The Sunday Concours was dominated by TR Register members and John Dennison took the overall winner's prize but the best TR belonged to a non-member.
CUMBRIA PICNIC - 16th JUNE
The club outing to join in the Cumbria Group's 10th Anniversary celebrations managed a convoy of almost all the TR models, 3A, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and we all enjoyed a spirited run from Menston to Sizergh Castle. We were welcomed and entertained royally by the Cumbria Group who had collectively put on a superb buffet lunch. The location is excellent and provided a splendid backdrop for the cars. Most of us toured the gardens before lunch and the inside of the house afterwards. Sadly the rain started later and forced an exrly departure, but a great day out.
