Isle of Wight Austins was formed in February 1996, when a small group of like minded enthusiasts, encouraged by Viv Orchard, met up one Sunday morning in Sandown. Viv had recently moved to the Island and had always been a stalwart of the Austin Seven movement. In 1963, he was one of the organizers of the very first 750 MC National Austin Seven Rally at Beaulieu. He also helped to produce the first 'Austin Seven Register'. Until he died in February 2014, Viv was our leader, becoming our Chairman in 2005. (Viv is pictured on the Club Night link). Under his leadership, the membership has gone from strength to strength, and each year we gain new members. The group is run on an informal basis for people on the Island who have an interest in anything badged Austin.
