On this page there is details of the EVENTS SHEET, DRIVE IT DAY and also other shows that Grampian Triumph Clubs get involved in, just scroll down to get them. Grampian Triumph Clubs organised events 2012 Events Drive It Day is usually held on the nearest Sunday to the 23rd April. This date was chosen in 2005 to commemorate the 64 cars which set off on the 23rd April 1900 on a 1000 mile Trial,an incredible undertaking in those days and one which we believe deserves an annual celebration. Drive it Day 2012 will be held on Sunday 22nd April Destination this year is the Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre and as usual is a joint event between GVRS and Grampian Triumph Clubs. We will meet at the Beach Esplanade at 9am. Line up along the Esplanade from the Beach Ballroom towards the Bridge of Don. If we all point south and park at an angle this should make a good photo opportunity. Owners are welcome to join the Run whether they are members of the Club or not. Final destination this year is Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre. Montrose was the first British Military Air Station and will celebrate it’s Centenery in 2013. The GVRS/Triumph Run will set off at about 09:30 along the Boulevard to King Street, Union Street and Holburn Street. Turn right onto Great Western Road and keep going until you reach the Royal Deeside Railway Visitor Centre at Milton of Crathes. The Society has kindly opened their Carriage Restaurant for us again so that we can have a coffee stop and tour of their shop. After a look through the visitor centre and shop we make our way back along the A93 as far as Crathes, turn right and follow the A957 Slug Road to Stonehaven. We drive through the centre of Stonehaven then turn left onto the A92. When we reach Montrose go straight over the roundabout then first left down Broomfield Road. Follow the signs for the Heritage Centre. The Centre has no catering facilities to accommodate us so either take a picnic, packed lunch, or go up to the town centre where there are lots of restaurants etc. The return journey is left to your own devices but many of us will be going over the Cairn o’ Mount to Banchory, and then making our way home.
