2014 WILL SEE THE 20TH ANIVERSARIY OF THE WATFORD AND DISTRICT CLASSIC VEHICLE CLUB LOOK OUT FOR SPECIAL EVENTS THAT WE ARE PLANING FOR THIS YEAR.
2012 has been another good year for Classics on the Green Shows but our income has gone down and our costs gone up what's new. As these shows are run for charity this effects what we can give out to them so can we ask for a donation of 3.00 to 5.00 per car for 2013 so that we can help more people in the future. The events sucsess is down to the vehicles that turn up and the people that bring them and the atmosphere at the shows on the village green. We know that the formate of any intresting vehicle is the reason for the sucsess of these events and the fact it covers every type of petrolhead on wheels lets keep it that way for many more years to come.
========================================================================================
we do not want to charge like other shows but this may have to hapern in future years if costs keep rising so it is down to the vehicle owners to keep it like it is and surport us. This type of event is the future of Classic Car shows as many big events price themselives out of the market and offer less to the public for more.
we would like to see you in 2013.
WE WILL ADD NEWS ITEMS TO THIS PAGE AS AND WHEN WE HAVE ANY.
Please look at our other website www.watfordclassics.co.uk for information on dates for shows we will be at in 2011 and to find out more about the Watford and District Classic Vehicle Club this is a new site that has been set up since our last one the host went bust and we lost 6 years of pictures and information.

CLASSICS ON THE GREEN AUGUST THE 3RD 2011.
This was the 10th Classics on the Green and the biggest yet with an estimated 2200 cars from 12noon to the end at 11.30pm last cars leaving. Great weather, great atmosphere, great cars all on the village green in Croxley Green Hertfordshire. Yes this is the largest evening car show in the country by far let us know other wise if you know of one bigger as we will have to find more space as we only advertise this show on a small scale and we have site full most years.Please view on you tube under Classics on the Green and Croxley Green to see the many vidios that have been posted.
As the show is in aid of charity ,and all we ask is donations it is amazing how much we raise for local charities all with the help of the general public.
The next Classics on the Green is on September 18th with Carters Steam Fair this will be the 8th joint show with them and is site full by 12.00 noon most years. We can only hold between 600 to 800 cars at this event so please come early or you will be in the overflow site to the side of the Green this can hold up to 500 cars so you will not be far away from the action.

CLASSICS ON THE GREEN WITH THE HERTFORDSHIRE MOTORSHOW 2 8TH AND 9TH MAY 2010
The Second Classics on the Green with the Hertfordshire Motor Show was again very succesful this year shame we did not have better weather, as it was cold yet over 600 cars came along to this event and everyone had a very good time. New car sales were up on last year and our motor dealers want to be back with us next year. Our sponsor the Watford Observer was very pleased with the results and they will be with us again next year to. Our charities will benifit very well from this very well organised event, which will grow each year like the other two Croxley Green shows. Look out for next years dates very soon.This will be sometime in May 2011 as the opening event of Rickmansworth week.

CLASSICS ON THE GREEN 9 4TH AUGUST 2010
This was the ninth Classic on the Green and again the weather was not very kind to us, but our luck held out with only two short showers. This event was very well surported as usual, but numbers were down to 1200 to 1300 vehicles approx which was very good considering the weather. All the car nuts that come along to the Croxley events do not mind a spot of rain so again our charities have benifited from all the the car owners and members of the public who gave to our collectors. The Great success of these events is the mixture of Cars from a 1902 James and Brown to nearly new supercars including an Aston Martin prototype in gulf colours. As we do not just have Classic Cars at this event and it is open to any interesting vehicles you never know what will turn up inclulding a film crew from Garage TV from South America who interviewed car owners for a TV show to be shown later in the Year on the Garage TV network. This event is not to be missed on the first Wednesday of August each Year.

CLASSICS ON THE GREEN WITH CARTER STEAM FAIR 18TH AND 19TH SEPTEMBER 2010
The last of our shows this year was site full by 11am, and we still kept finding spaces to put them in. Well over 800 cars came along to this all day event with thousands of visitors.The Fun Fair was full all afternoon and into the evening and all we heard was what a great show this is and all for charity from many of the visitors.We had seven Scammells on site on the Sunday along with other commercials. On the Saturday we did the road run with just one Scammell a 1950 Explorer, which when we arrived in Tolpits lane parked by the old Gates. We then moved on to the old site, which is now a housing estate and parked in Explorer Way the local residents were soon out to find out what was going on so they all had a local history leason on where they live on the old Scammell factory site.We then headed back to Croxley Green via Rickmansworth with people on the way looking in amazement at the Scammell due to it size.
Again the show was both a financial and social success for the Trust and will benifit many local charities. We hope you will continue to surport our shows in 2011 and have a great time at them. We will post some photos on the site as soon as we can as we have a very large album to call from.
All the best from The Classics on the Green Crew.
