Le Chateau Challenge 20th 21st September is a competition for vintage,classic and modern sports cars in the Val de Loire. It is now in it's fourth year and has raised many thousands of pounds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The event is for all those who love travel, history, fine wine, wonderful locations; all interwoven into a great competition. The 'end of event' function is held at Chateau Brissac near Angers, and really is something special. All the hard (!?) 'challenge' is left behind, and teams can relax and enjoy the occasion. Suits and / or Black Tie is the order for the night which begins with a champagne reception before a tour of this historic ancestral home from the Marquis himself. Their family, related to the French Kings (who had his own secret bedchambre built at Brissac) have owned the Chateau since the 15th C. A sumptious feast awaits you followed by prize giving.
Prizes are awarded in a number of categories - split into three groups for vintage/classic and modern - but with additional awards for sections of the competition and special 'judges prizes' and a prize for the 'esprit de corps' - last year won by the Rolls Royce 'boys' who competed in fancy dress throughout!
