A late addition to our calendar was the day trip to le Touquet. Thank goodness we live in Kent and its only a short drive to Dover. Setting our alarms for an early start (we must be mad getting up before 6.00am on a Sunday) 11 cars met at Dover for the ferry to Calais. With the roofs down in the warm shunshine, we drove the short journey to Le Touquet. Looking in the rear view mirror, we noticed a old jaguar in our convoy - he obviously wanted to be part of the best Club, MGOC of course!. The sun continued to shine as we enjoyed the pleasures of Le Touquet and the Classic Car Event.
Arriving back at Calais, Alan's car broke down at passport control. Not to be deterred Keith & Alan pushed it into the Ferry queue, whilst they waited for the rest of the group. Luckily Ray Dencer had taken his Range Rover (for that shopping detour) and was able to persuade the authorities to let use a tow rope to get the car onto the Ferry. Whitecliffes came to the rescue with the loan of a tow bar enabling Ray to get Alan safely home
